LIONSROCK Big Cat Sanctuary, Free StateLIONSROCK opened in February 2008 with the arrival of the first group of European lions saved from poor living conditions. Situated in the Eastern Free State of South Africa, three hours from Johannesburg, the sanctuary wildlife reserve is home to a diverse range of game and predators, making it an ideal destination for wildlife enthusiasts. The farm of 1.240 ha is home to a big variety of game including Black Wildebeest, Blue Wildebeest, Blesbuck, Burchell’s Zebra, Duiker, Eland, Impala, Letchwe, Mountain Reedbuck, Red Hartebeest, Reedbuck, Springbuck, Steenbuck and Waterbuck. And for the avid bird lovers, there is a wide variety of bird species that have found refuge on the farm.
