Ivory Tree Game Lodge, PilanesbergIvory Tree Game Lodge is situated in the north eastern region of the Pilanesberg National Park game reserve. Decorated in a range of earthy tones, the rooms have been carefully co-ordinated to ensure comfortable seating both indoors and out. Ivory Tree Game Lodge has 57 suites. Each features air conditioners which provide heating and cooling, en-suite bathroom, outside shower, covered patio, tea/coffee making facilities and mini bar fridge, private plunge pool and lounge. Entertainment in the open air boma and a remote bush dinner site is offered and could include a marimba band, drumming and/or traditional dancers. Spa Treatments are possible as is "Hot Air" Ballooning and Elephant back safari. Further activities including quad bike riding, clay pigeon shooting and archery, available at the Outdoor Adventure Centre adjacent to the Sun City Complex. Ivory Tree has a dedicated conference room with provision for 70 delegates. |

More about the area... The park is home to a wide variety of general game including the Big 5, in addition both species of rhino occur, namely black and white, and cheetah and wild dog. Each group of Ivory Tree Lodge guests is assigned a personal guide, tasked with interpreting the sights and sounds of the African bush. Pilanesberg Game Reserve is in the Bojanala Region of the North West Province, adjacent to Sun City. There are nearly 200 kilometres of excellent quality roads for either self-drives or guided drives, and professional guides operate within the park. Thanks to Operation Genesis in 1979, which involved the game-fencing of the reserve and the re-introduction of many long-vanished species, the park now has in excess of 7000 animals including 24 of the larger species. |
