General Terms
Please read the following booking conditions carefully, as they set out the terms and conditions of the contract between you and African Sun Travel ("AST"). The following terms of use ("Terms") govern the use of the African Sun Travel websites ("Website"). Read these terms carefully before You ("You") accept these Terms by: (a) placing an order and/or an enquiry through the use of any of our contact forms on our Websites, or (b) otherwise using the Websites. If You do not agree with all of these Terms, do not make use of the African Sun Travel Websites.
Bookings
Bookings, except for late bookings, are confirmed on the condition that a non-refundable deposit, of a minimum of 50% of the total package price, is paid to African Sun Travel within 24 hours of confirmation of your bookings. You will be advised at the time of booking what payment is required for your particular chosen travel arrangements. *Please note that many service providers require 100% pre-payment within 24 hour of confirmation nowadays. The balance of the cost of your travel arrangements must be paid no less than six weeks prior to departure. If your booking is made within 6 weeks of departure, the total cost of your travel arrangements must be paid at the time of booking.
Please note: FAILURE TO PAY ON TIME WILL RESULT IN THE AUTOMATIC CANCELLATION OF YOUR BOOKING.
Late Booking Fee & Communication Expenses (Telephone Calls)
In the event of a booking (except South Africa bookings) being made less than 7 days prior to the date of departure, African Sun Travel reserves the right to charge for any extra communication expenses. Full payment is due immediately on confirmation and is non-refundable on all late bookings. Some bookings require full payment at the time of booking i.e. prior to confirmation. If we are unable to secure confirmation you will be refunded in full.
Air/Train tickets
The air/train fare and taxes quoted are current and are subject to change without prior warning should the airline or train travel provider impose an increase in rates for any reason. Should the fare quoted not be available at the time of booking, the next applicable fare will be booked and amended costs advised accordingly. Please note that fares may increase between time of booking, time of payment and the ticket being issued. African Sun Travel cannot be held responsible should airlines or railway operators discontinue flights or train journeys on certain routings or change scheduled timetables resulting in missed connections. Should an amendment in routing or itinerary be necessary, any additional costs incurred will not be borne by African Sun Travel. Airfares and train fares are subject to the prices and conditions quoted by the particular airlines and/or railways and cannot be guaranteed by African Sun Travel. The onus is on the agent and the passenger to check that there have been no changes in these prices before making final payment thereof.
Methods of Payment
Credit Cards: In accordance with International Airline Travel Association (IATA) bulletin # A1/00 and our bank ABSA, we need a signed and validated Standard Credit Card Charge Form. The agent acknowledges that he/she has seen the card or received a copy of the card and that the signature on the card is the same as that on the Credit Card Charge Form. If the card is a foreign credit card then you may be requested to supply various other details. Cheques: Bank issued cheques only! Please note we require 7 working days to clear all cheques before documents can be issued and/or travel arrangement can be confirmed. Cash or EFT Transfers: We accept EFT transfers, or cash deposited into one of our bank accounts, subject to condition that the EFT transmission report or the cash deposit slip is provided to ourselves and such payment has been confirmed as received by ourselves. All payments must be made in full and free of any bank charges.
Insurance
We consider adequate travel insurance to be essential. All premiums must be paid at the time of booking, as cover will not be effective until then. Please ask your travel agent for insurance options. African Sun Travel will not be liable if anyone should fail to take adequate insurance cover.
Flight/Train Travel Timings
Flight/Train travel timings and other timings are provided by airlines and/or railways and are subject to Air Traffic Control restrictions. All means of transportation are subject to weather conditions, the need for constant maintenance, and the ability of passengers to check-in on time. There is no guarantee that flights, ferries, ships, trains or coaches will depart at the times stated on any itinerary, voucher or tickets which you receive. All timings are estimates only, and we do not accept any liability for any delay, however arising, or for any schedule alterations.
Flight/Train Travel Reconfirmation
It is your responsibility to ensure that you reconfirm the departure date and times of all your flight arrangements and train journeys at least 72 hours prior to departure. This is particularly important in respect of subsequent train journeys in South Africa and flights leaving South Africa. African Sun Travel hereby specifically excludes any liability and cannot be held responsible for any direct, indirect, special, incidental or consequential damages that may arise for any delay and/or travel service provider failure i.e. accommodation needed, car hire, shuttle service and/or any other loss as a result of your failure to reconfirm flight, train journeys and/or connecting flight details.
Documents
Documents: (vouchers, itineraries, etc.) are only prepared on receipt of full payment of the package price, and signed conditions of contract (i.e. our booking form) and will be ready 24 hours after payment has been received. Should you require your documents and air tickets to be forwarded to either yourself or the departure airport and or train station, this may be arranged. However, the courier costs in respect thereof will be for your own account.

is/are always subject to confirmation with the advertised
establishment/service provider and availability, their seasonal and peak
season rates and any other unforeseen influence out of the control of
African Sun Travel.
The information on African Sun Travel websites is updated regularly. We
take every effort to ensure that the displayed information is accurate,
but errors can occur from time to time. In the unlikely event that the
information on this website is incorrect due to technical inaccuracies
or typographical errors and/or service failure of the travel provider,
African Sun Travel, our employees and our website hosts cannot be held
responsible for any direct, indirect, special, incidental or
consequential damages that may arise from the use of erroneous
information found on the African Sun Travel websites.
IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU CHECK ALL DETAILS OF YOUR TRAVEL DOCUMENTS BEFORE TRAVELLING. IF THERE ARE ANY INACCURACIES ON ANY OF YOUR TRAVEL DOCUMENTS, OR SHOULD YOU HAVE ANY FURTHER QUERIES, YOU SHOULD CONTACT YOUR AGENT IMMEDIATELY. AFRICAN SUN TRAVEL WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DELAY AND/OR LOSS OCCASIONED AS A RESULT OF ANY INACCURACIES ON ANY TRAVEL DOCUMENTS ONCE YOU ARE IN RECEIPT THEREOF.
